Job Description
Position Overview
RECAN Uganda is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Volunteer Finance Officer to support the organization’s financial management, accountability, and reporting processes. This role is ideal for finance professionals who are passionate about transparency, social impact, and supporting refugee-led initiatives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day financial management and administrative operations
- Maintain accurate financial records, including cashbooks, vouchers, and supporting documentation
- Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and expenditure tracking
- Prepare basic financial reports for internal management and donor accountability
- Support compliance with donor requirements and organizational financial policies
- Assist with bank reconciliations and petty cash management
- Support procurement documentation and payment processing
- Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of financial documents
- Support internal controls and promote financial transparency
- Work closely with program and administrative teams to support project implementation
