About the Role:
Pride Bank Uganda is seeking a detail-oriented and committed Finance Officer to join our Head Office team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance Officer will support financial operations by managing staff payroll and benefits, monitoring liquidity, and providing accounting and reporting support to ensure effective financial management of the organization’s activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and verify bank statements, conduct bank reconciliations, and oversee fund transfers to ensure sound liquidity management.
Analyze financial data on income, expenses, assets, and liabilities to generate management reports for informed decision-making.
Monitor and support budget implementation to ensure efficient resource allocation and expenditure control.
Assist in computing and preparing statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, NSSF) and maintain updated tax schedules to ensure compliance.
Process staff salaries and benefits, ensuring accuracy in data entry and timely payments.
Verify statutory deductions and financial figures to comply with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Process staff loans, advances, and Board allowances in line with internal policies.
Validate transaction data within the IT system to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Process payments and manage receipt and invoice filing for streamlined operations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field, with a major in Accounting.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
Level II ACCA/CPA qualification is an added advantage.
Must have 2 principal passes at A’ Level and credit or pass in Mathematics and English at O’ Level.
