Job Description
The Finance Officer will support the organisation’s financial management processes, ensuring proper financial planning, accounting, reporting, and compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactions, preparing reports, supporting audits, and ensuring efficient use of financial resources for programme implementation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day financial operations including payments, receipts, and banking
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and expenditure summaries for management and donors
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and control of programme expenditures
- Ensure proper filing, documentation, and safe custody of financial records
- Assist in managing petty cash and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, donor regulations, and statutory requirements
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Work closely with programme teams to track project spending and financial accountability
- Contribute to strengthening financial systems and controls within the organisation
