Job Description
GIZ Uganda is recruiting a Finance Manager to support in the implementation of its programme.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Key responsibilities include managing financial planning, monitoring cash flow, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and advising on investment activities. The role also involves leading the finance team, establishing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. A successful Finance Manager will have strong analytical skills, experience in financial management, and the ability to guide strategic financial decisions for organizational growth and sustainability.

How to Apply
Specific Tasks
The Finance Manager performs the following tasks:
Financial management and controlling
Oversight and quality assurance (oversight, controls, and compliance) of financial and administration processes of the projects
Contract Management
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance Management. A masters degree in a related field is an added advantage.
A professional certification in Finance e.g., ACCA or CPA is an added advantage
Details of experience:
5 years professional experience in project accounting and/or finance management preferably within GIZ Uganda.
Proficiency in independently performing and complying with GIZ O&R and country internal procedures for all project related tasks in procurement, operations, and accounting.
Experience in project Proficiency in the accounting procedures required for project management.
Proficiency in relevant IT tools (SAP, Cost Control/Onsite reporting, MS-Office applications).
Proficiency to develop and handle tables and databases in excel for various monitoring purposes
Knowledge, skills and competences:
A proven team player with good communication skills and interest in handling diverse tasks in a small team.
Proactive in finding solutions and taking responsibility, interest in actively developing Junior Administrative and support staff
