How to Apply
Financial Planning & Management
Develop and oversee the implementation of financial policies, systems, and procedures.
Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with departmental heads and monitor budget utilization.
Ensure financial information is presented to project staff to facilitate implementation.
Accounting & Reporting
Provide financial forecasts and advise management on financial performance.
Support sub-agreements, partner and / or grants management
Review and maintain the accounting system, ensuring the integrate and compliance of financial date to facilitate timely financial reporting.
Maintain compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and donor requirements.
Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements and facilitate audits
Remittance of statutory obligations and filing returns
Be explicit on the tools including budget tracking, obligation tracking, accrual reports, etc and ensure timely submission.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and liquidity planning to meet organizational obligations.
Authorize payments and ensure internal controls are strictly followed.
Ensure cost savings / effectiveness and reasonableness in all allocated BUI expenses
Oversee investment planning where applicable
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure Compliance with Uganda Tax laws, Employment Laws , Donors and Other financial regulations.
Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
Coordinate external and internal audits and implement recommendations.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
Supervise and mentor finance staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
To act as a focal person to statutory bodies , Donors and other stake holders on behalf of Finance department
Build financial management capacity across departments through training and support.
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Proven experience in Quickbooks
Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA is required.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, donor reporting, and international Financial Management Standards.
Proven experience in budget management, audits, and financial systems management.
Specify the budget amounts of the projects you have worked on, along with the corresponding years
Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
High integrity, ethical standards, and commitment to confidentiality.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or similar).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Professionalism: Knowledge of policies, processes and procedures generally and in particular those related to financial management, programme/project administration and implementation, regulations of donor funds, and budgeting. He / She is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results while demonstrating masterly of the subject matter.
