Job Title: Field Sales and Marketing Associate (Fresher Jobs)

The Field Sales and Marketing Associate plays a key role in expanding Divine Bamboo’s customer base and increasing product visibility in the market. The role focuses on direct engagement with clients, field promotions, product education, distributor support, and ensuring strong customer service in key market areas. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, customer service, and hands-on sales work in both urban and peri-urban communities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Field Sales and Client Engagement
Conduct door-to-door or market-based sales of briquettes across different customer segments.
Promote the use of bamboo briquettes by educating customers on product benefits.
Develop weekly field plans and route schedules to ensure efficient coverage of target areas.
Record daily sales, reconcile, and submit reports on time.
Collect payments and work with the accounts team for proper reconciliation.
Report on field activities, including client visits, feedback received, market observations, and any challenges encountered.
Marketing and Product Promotion
Support development and the execution of marketing campaigns in the field, including demonstrations, sampling, and product activations.
Collect photos, feedback, and insights from field activities for marketing reports.
Implement localised marketing strategies developed by the sales and marketing team to increase awareness and drive adoption in specific regions.
Capture quality photos and short videos during fieldwork for use on Divine Bamboo’s social media platforms, and contribute content ideas based on customer interactions.
Customer Service and Relationship Building
Act as the first point of contact for client inquiries during fieldwork.
Collect and log customer feedback and report common complaints or suggestions.
Help onboard new clients into Divine Bamboo’s customer system and assist in ensuring their repeat purchase.
Support to Distributors and Retailers
Visit existing distributors to check on stock levels, visibility, and promotional needs.
Help identify new distribution points or potential vendors in underserved areas.
Train retail partners on key product benefits and selling techniques.
Market Intelligence
Report on competitor pricing, promotions, and customer behaviour in the field.
Suggest new market areas or adjustments based on customer insights and sales patterns.
Share real-time updates from the field on challenges, trends, and opportunities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field
2–3 years of experience in field sales, preferably in the energy sector, clean cooking solutions, or briquette distribution
Experience in conducting direct field sales, especially in low- to middle-income communities or fast-moving consumer environments
Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills
Ability to ride a motorcycle and willingness to travel extensively in the field is desirable, but not mandatory
Fluency in English and Luganda or other local languages
Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), email, and digital communication tools.
