Job Title: Field Epidemiologist (Fresher NGO Jobs)
Organisation: African Network for the Care of Children Affected by HIV/AIDS (ANECCA)

Reports to: Program Manager
Monitor the implementation of Integrated Sentinel Surveillance protocols activities and strengthening integrated epidemiology and surveillance systems in with the National Integrated Sentinel Surveillance (NISS), anecca’s mission and MOH guidelines.

How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Conduct investigations on routine, event occurrence of communicable and non-communicable diseases, in line with MOH guidelines
Track and document sources of disease outbreaks, infections disease incidence and report unusual patterns for possible interventions in line with the best practices& MOH guidelines
Collect, compile, analyse disease risk factors, patterners and other health related data using statistical analysis tools in line with the data management guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of field activities including investigation summaries, response actions in line with records management best practices
Prepare regular detailed reports and share findings through presentations, publications, or policy recommendations among various stakeholders to influence health interventions.
Develop and monitor the implementation of field investigations during outbreaks, disease containment, control and prevention in line with MOH guidelines.
Implement capacity building activities for health workers on surveillance methods, disease recognition and strengthening outbreak systems response protocols in line with MOH guidelines & best practices.
Establish close networks with local leaders, NGOs, and government agencies to engage in disease prevention measures, response and implementation of public health best practices.
Develop, test preparedness plans for public health emergencies and participate in the development of contingency plans for natural or man-made health crises in line with the public health best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, Medicine, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in public health or epidemiology, particularly in field settings
Experience in outbreak investigation or emergency response is a plus.
Strong analytical and statistical skills with proficiency in using SPSS, R, or Epi Info.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work in diverse, cultural sensitivity areas with ease to adoptability to resource-limited settings under pressure.
Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
Ability to engage in frequent travel to remote or challenging locations and work for irregular working hours, especially during disease outbreaks or emergencies.
Renumeration: Competitive, based on qualifications, experience, and location.
