The African Youth Action Network, AYAN was established in 2015 by refugee youth for refugee youth and young people across South Sudan and Uganda. Our Mission is to nurture youth ideas and potential to promote peace and development through informed, innovative and value driven capacity building actions. AYAN is growing. Our ambitions are laid out in our 5-year strategic plan, outlining our ongoing commitment to refugee communities, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and youth in Uganda and South Sudan. The organization in 2023 opened field offices in Kiryandongo, Rhino camp and Kyaka II refugee settlement. About the Pathpreneur Project The Refugee PATHPRENEUR project is being implemented in three refugee settlements (Kiryandongo, Kyaka II and Rhino Camp). Funded by Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the aim of the project is to improve the holistic well-being of families in refugee settlements in Uganda through early childhood development, integrated livelihoods, and psychosocial support. The objectives of the project are; 1. To enhance child holistic well-being through responsive protection and trauma-informed care, play, and learning 2. To Improve the utilization and access to the available mental health and psychosocial services for children and caregivers in Kiryandongo, Kyaka II, and Rhino Camp Refugee settlements 3. Promote sustainable and competitive livelihoods as a pathway for job creation, increased household income, and food security.
