Farm Supervisor

About the Role
The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring the efficient management of resources, staff, and adherence to good agricultural practices. The position requires a proactive and organized individual capable of coordinating research-related farming activities while maintaining high standards of productivity and sustainability.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and mentor farm personnel, including technicians, laborers, and support staff.
Coordinate field research activities and trials in collaboration with researchers and other stakeholders.
Maintain effective communication with research teams and management to ensure that farm operations align with research objectives.
Oversee all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting.

Implement sustainable land management practices to enhance soil fertility and minimize degradation.
Provide logistical support, resources, and infrastructure necessary for research activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farm operations, research trials, and resource utilization.
Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure, including buildings, irrigation systems, and research facilities.
Supervise the maintenance and safe use of farm machinery and equipment.
Develop and manage the farm’s annual budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and compliance with financial guidelines.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports and updates to the Head of Farm Management, Country Representative, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Requirements
Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Agricultural Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in farm management, preferably within a research or institutional setting.
Strong knowledge of modern agricultural practices and farm machinery operation.
Excellent management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
