Job Description
The Executive Waiter will oversee and ensure excellent customer service in all assigned hospitality areas. This role includes providing food and beverage recommendations, ensuring cleanliness and presentation of dining areas, managing guest payments, addressing special guest needs, and supporting other waitstaff. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences and upholding the company’s service excellence standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Offer professional and friendly meal and beverage recommendations for events and corporate functions.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and quality of plates, cutlery, and glassware.
Oversee cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, tables, and serving stations.
Assist clients with special needs while following relevant guidelines and standards.
Welcome guests courteously and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Organize and update menus based on seasonality, feedback, and style of the establishment.
Ensure that all waitstaff adhere to excellent customer service practices.
Process payments via cash, credit, or debit cards.
Maintain accurate and current menu pricing.
Supervise billing procedures after service.
Ensure proper table setup, including arrangement of cutlery and glassware.
Build lasting relationships with customers through excellent service and support.
Evaluate customer feedback to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Grade 12 (Matric)
Culinary qualification is an advantage
Experience:
5 to 6 years in a similar hospitality role
Skills and Competencies:
Endurance to stand or walk for long hours
Flexible working hours
Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Trustworthy and reliable
Strong personal hygiene
Ability to handle difficult customers professionally
