Job Description

Reporting to the People Capability Leader, the Training Captain will assess existing training practices, identify gaps, and design comprehensive training programs complete with tutorials, guides, and online modules. The role involves conducting restaurant orientations, training and certifying new and existing team members, and performing regular assessments to ensure knowledge retention and operational excellence. The Training Captain will facilitate new product training aligned with the marketing calendar, track and report training outcomes, maintain accurate training records, and continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to training materials and methods.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct restaurant orientation sessions for new team members on their start date or via the Learning Zone platform.

  • Train, coach, and certify team members in operational standards.

  • Complete training evaluations to assess knowledge retention among team members.

  • Deliver targeted training to address and bridge identified performance gaps.

  • Facilitate New Product Training sessions in line with the KFC marketing calendar.

  • Conduct biannual assessments for all employees to reassess knowledge and operational competence.

  • Assess additional training needs and discuss findings with the Training Manager and/or RGM.

  • Complete learner assessments for every team member twice a year.

  • Track, report, and analyze training outcomes, providing feedback to both participants and management.

  • Evaluate existing training materials and methodologies and recommend updates as necessary.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate employee training records.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of the in-store learning process and participative training techniques, especially within the KFC system.

  • Excellent planning and organizing abilities, including resource allocation, task delegation, and control system utilization.

  • Strong coaching skills, including the ability to instruct, demonstrate, and systematically challenge learners with progressively complex tasks.

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and systematize actions in line with available resources.

  • Experience using e-learning platforms (such as the Learning Zone) is an advantage.
