Kampala Hospital is a leading private healthcare provider dedicated to delivering world-class medical care. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Executive Chef to join our Facilities & Services Department. The successful candidate will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of nutritious, high-quality, and well-presented meals for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining strict hygiene, safety, and cost-control standards in accordance with hospital policies and national regulations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold hospital standards, food safety regulations, and hygiene protocols.
Plan and design menus in collaboration with the hospital dietitian to meet nutritional and special dietary requirements.
Manage kitchen budgets, monitor food and labor costs, and minimize waste.
Ensure consistent quality, taste, temperature, and presentation of all meals.
Oversee procurement, inventory management, and proper storage of food items to ensure cost-effectiveness and availability.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, coordinating timely repairs as necessary.
Address customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, driving continuous improvement.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with hospital policies, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Hotel Management and Institutional Catering (a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is an added advantage).
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, control costs, and maintain quality.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
