Job Description
UN Women Uganda is currently engaging with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Uganda and is required to submit key project documents, including a Concept Note and related attachments, in Chinese (Mandarin).
The Concept Note focuses on strengthening the agency, protection, and economic empowerment of adolescent girls and young women in Uganda, in line with shared priorities on women’s empowerment and South–South cooperation.
To meet these requirements and ensure a high-quality submission, UN Women Uganda is seeking an online Volunteer to support the translation of the Concept Note and related project documents from English into Chinese (Mandarin). The translated documents will be used for official donor engagement and submission purposes and must accurately reflect the technical content, strategic framing, and UN communication standards of the original documents.
Through this assignment, the online Volunteer will contribute directly to UN Women’s resource mobilization efforts and gain practical experience in translating donor-facing programme documents within a UN and international development context.

Translation and Interpretation
Task description
- The online Volunteer will support the translation of a Concept Note and related project documents from English into Chinese (Mandarin). The Volunteer will translate one Concept Note and a limited number of related annexes.
- The Volunteer will ensure that all translations are accurate, clear, and consistent, while preserving the original meaning, tone, and technical content of the Concept Note.
- The estimated workload is expected to include the translation of approximately 40 pages over the assignment period.
