KinderKare Pre-School, a proud affiliate of Sycamore International School, is located in Kansanga, and embraces the Early Years curriculum. Our curriculum encourages learners and teachers to be confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged. At KinderKare, we aim to create an enriching, diverse and stimulating learning environment where every learner is valued, challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning: Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that cater to the needs and interests of children aged 2 to 5 years old. Ensure that the curriculum aligns with educational standards and promotes holistic development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
Child Observation and Assessment: Regularly observe and assess the progress and development of each child in your care. Keep detailed records of their achievements, milestones, and areas for improvement. Use this information to tailor instruction and support individual learning goals.
Creating a Nurturing Environment: Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment where children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn. Establish positive relationships with children and their families to promote a sense of belonging and security.
Supporting Social and Emotional Development: Implement strategies to promote the social and emotional well-being of children, including teaching conflict resolution skills, encouraging empathy and kindness, and modeling positive behavior. Provide emotional support and guidance to help children navigate challenges and build resilience.
Encouraging Language and Literacy Development: Create opportunities for language-rich experiences through storytelling, songs, rhymes, and interactive conversations. Facilitate emergent literacy skills by introducing letters, sounds, and early reading concepts in engaging and meaningful ways.
Promoting Creativity and Imagination: Stimulate children's creativity and imagination through art, music, dramatic play, and sensory activities. Provide materials and opportunities for self-expression and exploration, allowing children to develop their unique interests and talents.
Collaborating with Colleagues and Families: Work collaboratively with other educators and staff members to ensure continuity and coherence in the preschool program. Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, sharing updates on their child's progress, discussing concerns or milestones, and involving them in their child's learning journey.
Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education through professional development opportunities, workshops, and ongoing training. Continuously reflect on your teaching practices and seek feedback to enhance your effectiveness as an educator.
