Bridges to Prosperity (B2P)
Job Description
The Driver will act responsibly and respectfully towards the communities and partners at all times. The Driver will work with the local people involved in bridge projects to mutually promote community harmony.
The Driver will spend much of their time in the field and be expected to live modestly in local accommodation and use local transportation to get around.
The Driver will report to the Procurement and Logistics Coordinator Primary roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive assigned Project vehicle daily, as assigned and/or preapproved by supervisor including on scheduled field trips, project-related trips within Kampala and other cities, and other driving assignments as required
- Ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicle and others as required by the Manager
- Check assigned vehicle weekly to ensure that it is operational and safe to drive
- Initiate and supervise any repairs or maintenance required on assigned vehicles, with supervisor’s approval.
- Initiate and supervise routine periodic maintenance of assigned project vehicles, including oil, filter changes, tune ups, and professional cleaning by high-pressure hose based on the manufacturer’s instructions on optimum maintenance requirements.
- Fulfill project reporting requirements using B2P’s tools and approaches
- Ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws, driving carefully, and ensuring each
- person in the vehicle wears a seatbelt since any driver’s fault requires a driver to pay the fine not B2P
- And any Other duties as assigned by Bridges to Prosperity.
