How to Apply
Driving and Vehicle Maintenance
Safely operate assigned vehicles for the transportation of staff, goods, and other official errands.
Regularly inspect and maintain the vehicle in good working condition.
Monitor and schedule routine servicing and repairs as needed.
Ensure the vehicle is always clean and fueled.
Logistics and Support
Assist with loading, unloading, and securing goods or materials for transport.
Support field operations with logistical duties as required.
Maintain accurate trip and fuel logs as per the organization’s policy.
Compliance and Safety
Adhere to all traffic rules, regulations, and safety protocols.
Ensure proper documentation, such as permits and insurance, is updated.
Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical failures immediately to the supervisor.
Administrative Duties
Maintain a record of vehicle movements and assignments.
Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
A minimum of 4-5 years of professional driving experience, preferably upcountry or in rural areas.
Valid driving license with classes B, CM, and DL (or equivalent).
Good knowledge of Uganda’s traffic laws and upcountry road conditions.
Experience driving 4WD vehicles in challenging terrain preferably with an NGO.
Certificate in defensive driving or related training is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and ability to conduct minor repairs.
Fluent in English and at least one local language spoken in the upcountry area.
High level of integrity, discipline, and punctuality.
Key Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to navigate and follow GPS directions or maps.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends.
A proactive and problem-solving mindset, especially in remote locations.
