In coordination with project team, implementing partner in Karamoja and other disability networks, coordinate training plans, develop inclusive training content and training materials with focus on inclusion.
Work closely with the VSO-Uganda team and project colleagues and implementing partners in developing effective and efficient systems and procedures in the area of supporting persons with disability and make recommendations for continual service improvements.
Act as a point of contact for persons with disability, ensure support requirements are understood and embedded in, group activities, vocational training, disseminated to community, colleagues and adjustments are in place where necessary.
Support disability assessments in close collaboration with implementing partners, recommend assistive devises to aid training outcomes for persons with disability.

Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as disability studies, social work, psychology, special education, international development, or a related field is typically required.
Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge of disability rights, inclusion, and empowerment principles.
Experience working with people with disabilities and/or in disability-related programs or projects.
Familiarity with international frameworks and conventions related to disability rights, such as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Technical Skills:
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Ability to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to assess the impact of inclusion initiatives.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including persons with disabilities, community members, government officials, and NGOs.
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings.
Advocacy and Networking:
Ability to advocate for the rights and needs of persons with disabilities at the community, national, and international levels.
Experience in networking and building partnerships with disability organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
Capacity Building:
Experience in conducting training sessions, workshops, and awareness-raising activities on disability inclusion and rights.
Ability to provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to local partners and organizations.
Project Management:
Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Ability to develop and oversee disability-inclusive projects and activities.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in relevant languages spoken in the project area or country may be required, particularly if working in a non-English-speaking context.
Commitment to Inclusion:
A strong commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and social justice for persons with disabilities.
Empathy, compassion, and a person-centered approach to working with individuals with disabilities.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in challenging or resource-limited environments.
Willingness to travel to remote or rural areas where project activities are implemented.
