Job Description
The Digital Communications Officer will lead content creation and digital engagement efforts by developing and implementing social media strategies, designing and publishing digital assets, managing online communities, and optimizing content based on insights and analytics. The position will work closely with internal teams to showcase organizational programs, promote advocacy campaigns, and strengthen brand positioning. The successful candidate will monitor online trends, conduct social listening, manage publishing schedules, and leverage tools such as SEO and analytics platforms to enhance visibility and optimize communication performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement digital communication and social media strategies
Plan and execute campaigns to grow brand visibility and audience engagement
Create and maintain a content calendar across digital channels
Produce and publish high-quality multimedia content (text, images, videos)
Manage social media platforms and online communities
Monitor analytics and report on performance trends and improvements
Conduct industry research and social listening to inform content strategy
Use SEO, keyword research, and social media tools to optimize content
Design digital creative assets including graphics and web layouts
Collaborate with internal teams to promote projects and initiatives
Support implementation of broader communication strategies and plans
Stay updated on emerging digital tools and social media trends
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, or related field
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in digital communications or social media management
Experience in nonprofit or advocacy communications is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong storytelling and content creation skills
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign)
Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and social media analytics tools
Experience with content management and publishing platforms
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
