How to Apply
To execute procedures for database operations, maintenance, security, archiving, and recovery.
Provide first-level support for all infrastructure to all Branches and Head Office units
Provide substantive input to the systems Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan and ensure proper failover setup plans.
ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
Ensure effective database license management. All database licenses must be optimally used, and unused database servers must be decommissioned to avoid costs above budget.
To analyze business application requirements and develop specifications for database construction and maintenance.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of all enterprise databases, operations manuals, and procedures.
Monitor the status of end-of-cycle activities, including backups, ensuring compliance with schedules and Critical server Uptime.
Investigate problems with databases and end-of-cycle runs, ensure appropriate corrective action, or escalate problems as appropriate.
Act as liaison for vendors as they support complex database-related issues, systems, and implementation projects.
Address various database integration issues, including synchronization between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications.
Contribute to the setting of standards for the database and ensure conformance to these standards.
Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certifications
Experience
2 years in database administration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and UNIX is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of banking operations is an added advantage.
Basic understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Knowledge of desktop operating systems and productivity software (MS Office, Outlook).
