Job Description
The Credit Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s credit and collections processes. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure timely payments, maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external clients, and minimizing credit risk across all branches and subsidiaries. The successful candidate will also handle credit matters for the company's insurance portfolios, and experience in a medical setting will be an advantage.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage credit control processes, including the collection of outstanding payments from clients.
- Monitor and review credit limits and accounts receivable to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Handle credit issues related to insurance companies, ensuring timely collections and resolution of payment discrepancies.
- Regularly assess customer creditworthiness and monitor debtor balances to minimize risk.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as finance and sales, to streamline the credit management process.
- Prepare reports on credit performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Conduct reconciliations of accounts and resolve any outstanding issues with clients.
- Ensure timely follow-up on unpaid invoices and manage delinquent accounts.
- Provide support to all branches and subsidiaries within and outside Uganda on credit-related issues.
- Implement and recommend credit policies and procedures to improve cash flow and minimize bad debts.
