Job Description
The Credit Control Manager will develop, implement, and maintain an effective, professional credit control system that safeguards company revenues and accelerates cash conversion. The role oversees credit risk assessment, customer credit limits, collections strategy, dispute resolution, and cross-functional collaboration with Billing, Sales, Customer Service, and Legal. The manager will set and enforce credit policies, drive continuous process improvements across invoicing and follow-ups, monitor provisions and write-offs, and deliver KPI targets for DSO, cash cycle, and bad-debt reduction while coaching and appraising team members.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Enforce corporate credit policies and procedures to ensure consistent, customer-centric collections.
Lead, motivate, and appraise the Credit Control team; drive performance against KPIs.
Manage internal/external invoice and account disputes; ensure timely resolution.
Plan and execute collection strategies; mitigate spillover of overdue debt.
Oversee accurate allocation of receipts; prepare inputs for bad-debt and revenue reserves.
Continuously improve processes (invoicing, follow-ups, dispute management).
Manage credit assessments; set and regularly review customer credit limits.
Escalate high-risk cases; initiate stop-service on inactive or non-compliant accounts.
Collaborate with Billing, Customer Service, Sales, Legal, and key clients to resolve issues and escalations.
Reduce bad-debt provisions and improve cash cycle/cash conversion in line with targets.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar credit control leadership role (service industry preferred) with a proven track record.
Professional credential: Certified Credit Professional (CCP-K) preferred; CPA-K also considered.
Strong organization and time-management; high attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to handle sensitive/confidential information.
Proactive problem-solver; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proven team leadership.
