Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students to address personal, academic, and emotional issues.

Offer guidance and support to help students manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.
Facilitate group counseling sessions on topics such as stress management, study skills, and interpersonal relationships.
Develop and implement group therapy programs to address common student concerns.
Respond to and manage crisis situations, including providing immediate support and intervention.
Collaborate with other campus services and external resources to ensure comprehensive care during emergencies.

A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
Professional certification or licensure as a counselor or therapist is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience, preferably in a university or educational setting.
Experience with student populations and understanding of issues relevant to college students, including academic stress, personal development, and mental health challenges.
Strong counseling skills with the ability to provide individual and group counseling services.
Proficiency in assessing and addressing a wide range of psychological and emotional issues.
Ability to develop and implement counseling programs and workshops.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant position at Muni University. Typed application letters should be submitted in triplicate to the University Secretary, Muni University, P. O. Box 725, Arua, or the Kampala Liaison office in Makerere University Lincoln House A1 to be received not later than Monday 16th, September 2024 at 5:00pm.
The application letter should bear the title of the post and the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies of their Academic Documents and
Professional Certificates, National Identity Card and three recent passport size photographs, a typed and signed CV, evidence of previous employment (contract document(s), appointment letter(s) and Certificate(s) of Service) and any other relevant documents. Where it is required, applicants for academic positions should attach evidence of publications and graduate research supervision.
