Job Description
Job Title: Counseling Psychologist

Duty Station: Gulu, Uganda
Reports to: Principal Counseling Psychologist
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Assesses clients and identifies their problems/challenges
Schedules and evaluates client response to treatment through follow-up
Keeps a detailed account of client history/information in a confidential manner
Trains Peer Counsellors.
Implements individual treatment plans.
Develops HIV/AIDS IE Materials, Charts and brochures for distribution
Sensitizes clients on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
An honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling Psychology or Counselling and Guidance from a reputable Academic Institution.
Must be registered with Uganda Counseling Association.
Essential Skills/Competencies:
Good organizational skills.
Should have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong listening, observation, and communication skills.
Empathetic and sensitive when working with clients.
Work Experience:
At least three (03) years of work experience in counseling.
Age Limit: The applicant must be thirty-five (35) years or below at the time of application.

A detailed and up to date Curriculum Vitae signed and dated by the applicant;

Copies of National Identity Card and any other relevant identification document;
Reference letters from three (3) referees who should be advised to send their reference letters under confidential cover, either in hard copy or using the email address us@gu.ac.ug
