Job Description
Under the direction of the Director JTI and in coordination with IDLO, the consultants/trainers will provide training in various legal areas including Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Land Law, Refugee Law, Gender and Juvenile Justice, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Trainers will be responsible for developing course outlines, delivering participatory training sessions, compiling training materials, and providing post-training evaluation and reporting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop course outlines and training plans in the relevant legal area.
Design a detailed training program with a session breakdown.
Deliver training using participatory and interactive methodologies.
Conduct training evaluations to assess knowledge gain.
Compile and share training materials in both soft and/or hard copy.
Submit training reports and evaluations to JTI for review and approval.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable experience in conducting legal training.
Prior experience delivering training to Ugandan Judicial Officers or legal practitioners.
Strong understanding of the Ugandan legal system; formal legal qualification is an advantage.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
