Commissioning Telecoms Specialist (TIL) Job at McDermott

Job Description
Reports to the Commissioning Telecoms Superintendent and assist in the execution of a safe and efficient Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up and Performance Testing of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives. Responsible for the execution of the plant telecoms & security pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with the Commissioning Execution Plan. Provides first line supervision of the technicians carrying out the telecoms & security completion activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively within the Project team and with Client to maintain positive relationships
- Supervises pre-commissioning activities for telecoms & security equipment including pre-energization checks for telecoms & security equipment within his area of responsibility, and repair and refurbishment of telecoms & security equipment during commissioning and operations as required
- Responsible for functional verification and commissioning of telecom and security systems including PAGA, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Telephone/VoIP and Radio communication systems
- Coordinate and verify commissioning of telecom network infrastructure including switches, routers, industrial network devices and system integration with plant control networks
- Coordinate with the Telecom System Integrator, equipment manufacturers and vendors to support telecom and security system pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities, including review of procedures, vendor support during Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and resolution of equipment issues where required
- Support integrated system testing between telecom systems and plant control systems including interfaces with DCS, ESD and Fire & Gas systems where applicable
- Participate in walk down inspections, punch listing, clearing and reinstatement activities of telecoms & security systems
- Ensure the issue of PTW and job safety analysis for telecoms & security commissioning activities in the area under his responsibility
- Supervises the safe and effective utilization of all materials, equipment and personnel assigned to telecoms & security team
- Responsible for quantity and quality of all work performed by the telecoms & security team in the area under his responsibility
- Redlining as-built telecoms & security drawings for pre-commissioning and commissioning works in compliance with project procedure
- Complies with company policies, procedures and safe working practices
