Work collaboratively within the Project team and with Client to maintain positive relationships.
Supervises pre-commissioning activities for instrument equipment including pre-energization checks for instrument equipment within his area of responsibility, and repair and refurbishment of instrument equipment during commissioning and operations as required. Supervises commissioning activities on instrumented systems and equipment packages for test runs and performance tests within his area of responsibility.
Responsible for executing the Loop Testing program in the area under his responsibility.
Record the completion of the instrument/control activities and ensure all records are passed to the Systems Completion team for entry into the database.
Participate in walk down inspections, punch listing, clearing and reinstatement activities of instrument systems.
Plan daily activities based on schedule requirements, procedures, and available work fronts.
Coordinate with the E&I Sub-contractor on site for all Pre-commissioning activities.
Ensure the issue of PTW and job safety analysis for instrument commissioning activities in the area under his responsibility.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for instrument pre-commissioning, commissioning and repairs procedures for instrument equipment/packages as required.
Work with Vendors and assist in vendor coordination for SAT's and initial start-up.
Supervises the safe and effective utilization of all materials, equipment and personnel assigned to instrument/control team.
Responsible for quantity and quality of all work performed by the instrument/control team in the area under his responsibility.
Redlining as-built instrument drawings for pre-commissioning and commissioning works in compliance with project procedure.
Complies with company policies, procedures and safe working practices.

Basic Qualifications
Preferably possess a diploma in engineering or similar.
Must have a minimal of 5 years' experience within a contractor organisation as a commissioning instrument supervisor / specialist.
Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience on at least 3 major EPC projects in the refinery, oil and gas industry.
Experience with large rotating machinery equipment packages such as turbines, pumps and compressors.
Experience of Fire & Gas Detection, MMS, LDS, Analyser & Sampling. Tank Gauging and HIPS is preferred.
Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, Emergency Shutdown systems, Fire and Gas, and Programmable Logic Controllers is highly desirable.
Demonstrate a broad technical knowledge of construction and completion activities.
Knowledge of Completions Management System is preferred.
Knowledge of OPERCOM and ICAPS on a large oil & gas project is a plus.
Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
Must have good computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum.
Must have strong English communications skills, both oral and written. Second language is a plus.
