The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization. IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis. Our studies have led to over 300 publications and have impacted on the management of infectious diseases in Uganda. IDRC currently manages over 41 Grants with an annual budget of $11 million. IDRC was established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of Health.

Job Description
Record clinical findings, laboratory results, and treatment details accurately in source documents and case report forms (CRFs)
Responsible for recruitment of patients, their assessment and management during follow up, responsible for patient care and wellbeing;
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate participants for inclusion/exclusion criteria according to the study protocol
- Diagnose, treat, and monitor participants’ clinical conditions throughout the study
- Explain study procedures, risks, and benefits to participants and support the consent process
- Ensure all clinical procedures, interventions, and assessments comply with the study protocol
- Identify, manage, and report adverse events (AEs/SAEs) promptly to the PI and regulatory authorities
- Record clinical findings, laboratory results, and treatment details accurately in source documents and case report forms (CRFs)
- Responsible for recruitment of patients, their assessment and management during follow up, responsible for patient care and wellbeing;
- Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for clinical procedures and data accuracy
- Supervise day-to-day clinic operations, including staff coordination, patient flow, and resource utilization
- Ensuring proper daily laboratory operations including specimens correctly labelled, sent for processing, follow up on laboratory results and transfer to study forms;
- Ensure all patients are followed up till discharge from the study and any patient who misses a clinic visit is followed up at home;
- Supervising Study staff including Nurses, Laboratory Technicians and Home Visitors
