Job Description
The Cleaner/Messenger will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, clinic rooms, restrooms, and other facilities. The role includes waste management, maintaining cleaning supplies, and ensuring adherence to infection control standards. In addition, the position involves messenger duties such as delivering documents, running errands, and supporting staff with logistics during meetings or events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions while working independently or as part of a team.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize clinic rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas daily.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure segregation of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting shortages or malfunctions.
Ensure compliance with infection control and hygiene standards.
Deliver documents, packages, and supplies within and outside the clinic.
Run errands as assigned by management to support daily operations.
Assist with setting up rooms for meetings, training sessions, and events.
Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing bulbs, reporting repair needs).
Support clinic staff with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of secondary education (Mandatory).
Tertiary college certificate is highly desirable.
Previous experience in cleaning, administrative support, or messenger roles preferred.
Experience in healthcare or research settings is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Basic communication skills in English.
Reliability, punctuality, and a hardworking attitude.
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and lift/move moderate loads.
Willingness to undergo training on hygiene and safety protocols.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if required.
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject Protection (HSP) certification is an added advantage.
