Job Description
Position Title: Business Development Supervisor

Location: Head Office, Kampala
As part of its continued growth, the Bank is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and results-oriented professionals to join its team in the following position:
Role Purpose
The Business Development Supervisor will play a key role in identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and business partners. The position oversees product development and sales functions, driving brand visibility, business growth, and profitability. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of effective business development initiatives to expand the Bank’s market presence and strengthen its corporate image.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct market research and promote Yako Bank’s products and services to boost brand awareness and customer engagement.
Support budgeting and monitor sales department expenditures in line with the Bank’s policies to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
Participate in the design and development of new products and services, ensuring timely submission for management review.
Track and analyze marketing and sales performance through reports, management accounts, and customer data insights.
Regularly review and update the Bank’s product and service portfolio to incorporate new features and align with departmental plans.
Facilitate staff orientation sessions to enhance internal understanding of Yako Bank’s products and services.
Prepare marketing materials including brochures, posters, leaflets, product guides, and promotional content.
Train staff and service providers to strengthen product knowledge and support market penetration.
Drive profitability by diversifying the Bank’s product portfolio and expanding market reach.
Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate potential business locations for new branches or outlets.
Develop and manage funding proposals and partnerships with strategic stakeholders.
Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of strategic alliances that align with the Bank’s growth objectives.
Collaborate with internal departments (Business Segments, Digital Transformation, IT, MIS, Credit, Marketing, and Senior Management) to ensure seamless implementation of business development initiatives.
Manage initiatives that enhance the utilization of funding lines from development partners.
Lead end-to-end product development processes, including testing, documentation, and rollout of new solutions.
Identify, monitor, and report on emerging funding prospects using appropriate tracking tools.
Present monthly performance updates to Senior Management, highlighting opportunities for growth and improvement.
Promote a culture of business excellence and innovation within the Bank to deliver superior client solutions.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or another Business-related field.
Practical training in banking and research is required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing strategic partnerships, business development, and negotiation of complex agreements.
Strong strategic mindset with proven ability to influence internal teams and manage external relationships.
Demonstrated experience in product development and financial performance management.
Customer-focused, resourceful, and capable of making sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
Strong understanding of industry trends and macroeconomic dynamics.
Knowledge of licensing and intellectual property is an added advantage.
Entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset.
