Job Description
As a Bell Attendant, your primary responsibility is to greet guests with professionalism, assist with their luggage, and escort them to their rooms while providing an orientation of room amenities. You will manage luggage storage and retrieval, deliver guest messages, assist with wake-up calls, and support concierge services. You’ll play a vital role in providing information, promoting hotel services, and ensuring guests’ needs are met promptly. In addition, you will help maintain cleanliness at the bell desk area, handle check-out cards, assist with transport logistics, and communicate guest concerns to management. This is a hands-on, guest-facing role that requires excellent communication skills and a helpful attitude.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Greet and welcome all guests with a warm smile
Assist guests with luggage during arrival and departure
Check daily occupancy, VIPs, groups, and guests with special needs
Escort guests to rooms and explain room features
Provide luggage storage, tagging, and retrieval services
Deliver guest messages and run errands as needed
Ensure luggage verification before delivery and during checkout
Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests
Assist with guest transport planning as guided by the transport coordinator
Upsell hotel services including rooms, F&B outlets, and business center
Notify Team Leader before leaving your post during the shift
Assist in morning newspaper distribution (if applicable)
Provide feedback to Departmental Trainers on guest experiences
Alert management to suspicious activity or guest complaints
Perform physical wake-up calls when phone calls go unanswered
Collect and summarize check-out cards (if applicable)
Maintain cleanliness and order at the bell desk/lobby area
Multi-task as required and handle other duties assigned by management
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Previous experience in a guest service or hospitality role is an advantage
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Polite, courteous, and customer-focused attitude
Physically fit to handle luggage assistance tasks
Knowledge of hotel operations and facilities preferred
Ability to multi-task and handle high guest traffic
Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
Must be well-groomed and professional in appearance
Familiarity with emergency and safety procedures
