The Banksman/Rigger will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of loads in construction or industrial settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clear and precise signals to crane operators, assisting in the rigging of loads, and ensuring that all lifting operations comply with safety regulations and best practices.
Activities
Signal Operations:
Provide clear and accurate signals to crane operators during lifting and movement operations.
Use standardized hand signals or communication systems to coordinate with crane operators and other team members. Rigging:
Assist in the proper rigging of loads, ensuring that materials are secure, balanced, and ready for lifting.
Inspect and maintain rigging equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and best practices during all lifting and rigging operations.
Conduct pre-lift safety briefings and inspections to identify potential hazards. Communication:
Maintain effective communication with crane operators, rigging team members, and other personnel involved in lifting operations.
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
Documentation:
Complete required paperwork and documentation related to lifting and rigging operations.
Keep accurate records of lifts, rigging inspections, and safety procedures. Training and Awareness:
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and safety standards.
Promote a culture of safety and awareness among the team.

Person Specifications
Education, Training, Experience & Skills
Certified Banksman/Slinger/Signaller as per BS 7121-3:2017
Medical Fitness to work certificate.
Valid banksman and rigging certifications/licenses.
Proven experience in a banksman or rigging role, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
Minimum 3 years
