Job Summary:

It offers investment solutions for individuals and institutions, with options to invest in various asset classes like money market, fixed income, and equities, aiming to help clients preserve and grow wealth
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The Assistant Portfolio Manager supports the Portfolio Manager in managing investment portfolios to meet client objectives. This role involves conducting investment research, monitoring market trends, analysing portfolio performance, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a keen interest in markets and portfolio construction.
Assist in the day-to-day management and monitoring of investment portfolios
Conduct fundamental and quantitative research on securities, industries, and market trends
Prepare investment memos, performance reports, and presentations for clients or internal stakeholders
Monitor portfolio risk, asset allocation, and compliance with investment guidelines
Generate trade ideas and assist in trade execution and rebalancing of portfolios
Maintain portfolio management systems and ensure accurate data entry
Collaborate with research analysts, operations, and compliance teams
Support the development of investment strategies and provide input on asset allocation decisions
Stay current on market developments and regulatory changes affecting investments
Invest funds appropriately in line with the house view and client investment guidelines;
Maintain and build Client and Stakeholder relationships for retention, growth and new business opportunities purposes.
Aid Business Development by providing technical bid information, client leads and market intelligence to keep abreast with Industry market trends.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor of Science Actuarial, Mathematics or Commerce or Finance
Progress toward CFA designation
CISI certificate
Knowledge of risk management metrics and techniques
Details of experience
At least three (3) years’ experience in investment support role
Knowledge, skills and competences
Excellent communication and presentation skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position papers as well as write reports and prepare relevant publications.
High level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and portfolio theory
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
Good customer relationship management skills (internal and external customers)
Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
