Job Description
Reporting to the Manager within the Alternative Asset Services Division, the Assistant Manager will manage a client portfolio, supervise junior team members, coordinate NAVs, manage client and statutory reporting, and liaise with auditors. The role demands expertise in private equity fund accounting, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver in a deadline-driven environment. The Assistant Manager will ensure all client entities meet financial and regulatory obligations and support the development of internal procedures tailored to client needs.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of administration and oversee accounting for a client portfolio
Supervise and mentor junior staff members
Plan, coordinate, and complete Net Asset Valuations (NAVs)
Ensure timely management and statutory reporting in line with regulatory obligations
Develop and implement client-specific procedures for administration and reporting
Coordinate audits and act as primary liaison with auditors
Ensure reporting compliance with statutory requirements, relevant GAAP, or IFRS
Maintain effective client relationship management and service delivery
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification
Experience:
At least 1 year post-articles experience
Minimum of 3 years in the fund industry
Prior fund-related accounting experience required
Knowledge in Private Debt, Capital Markets, Real Assets, or Private Equity is an added advantage
Competencies:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering laws)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Highly motivated and driven
