Job Description

The role includes ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of all Retail sector financial data, uploading and clearing bank transactions, managing fixed assets and prepayments, and preparing various financial reports including VAT and turnover certificates. The incumbent will support store openings and closures, ensure data alignment between SAP and MICROS, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audits. Strong analytical and communication skills, along with SAP and Excel proficiency, are key to success in this role.

How to Apply

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the finance team, internal departments, and external parties like SARS and auditors

  • Manage the Retail Accounts mailbox

  • Process valid petty cash, mall voucher, and credit card expenses

  • Upload HSBC bank statements into SAP

  • Reconcile bank clearing accounts weekly

  • Manage prepayments and prepare monthly schedules and reconciliations

  • Ensure MICROS in-store daily cash-ups are accurate

  • Reconcile weekly and monthly banking with MICROS

  • Prepare monthly Retail Reconciliations (Card to Bank, EFT, Payfast, etc.)

  • Support new store openings and closures

  • Ensure SAP NNTS aligns with MICROS NNTS

  • Prepare and send Retail Turnover Certificates

  • Manage accounting functions: fixed assets, depreciation, CAPEX reports, COGS, recurring journals

  • Prepare VAT reconciliations and audit documentation

  • Generate ad-hoc retail invoices and purchase orders

  • Assist in LICS controls, forecasting, budgeting, and audits

  • Support the Head of Corporate Finance with any ad-hoc requests

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial accounting environment

  • FMCG industry and SAP experience advantageous

Skills and Competencies:

  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to prioritize under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and within a team
