Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Organisation: Makerere University Endowment Fund
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our accounting department by managing financial records, processing invoices, and supporting with audits.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Input financial data accurately into accounting systems.
Process invoices and payments in a timely manner.
Maintain an organized financial records and documentation.
Assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
Support both external and internal auditors by providing necessary documentation during the financial year audits.
Review and process employee payments in time.
File monthly tax returns.
Communicate with clients and vendors regarding account inquiries.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B’COM,BBA, AND ACCOUNTING).
Proficiency in accounting software e.g QuickBooks, and knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to work well in a team environment.
