Job Description
The role entails coordinating the receipt of vendor invoices, verifying the authenticity and accuracy of billing against purchase orders or contracts, applying correct tax rates, and ensuring that invoices are processed, posted to correct accounts and cost centers, and approved on time. The Assistant Accountant also responds to queries from vendors and internal stakeholders, prepares accruals, supports audit activities, and maintains proper filing for reference and legal compliance.

How to Apply
Coordinate receipt and posting of invoices to correct account codes and cost centers, ensuring alignment with the appropriate financial period.
Verify invoices against valid contracts, purchase orders, and goods received notes.
Apply correct tax rates for invoices from different countries to ensure compliance.
Queue invoices for approval according to the company’s approval matrix.
Monitor and expedite the approval process to avoid delays impacting operations.
Respond promptly to supplier and internal stakeholder queries.
Prepare accurate accruals for costs incurred but not yet billed.
Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing requested documentation.
Maintain proper filing systems for invoices for future reference, audit trails, recharges, and legal evidence.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
CPA Section III qualification or equivalent.
At least one (1) year of practical finance experience in a busy organization.
Exposure to accounting systems and software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management.
Team player with a high degree of honesty and integrity.
Results-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good customer service and personal motivation skills.
