Department: Surgical & Critical Care
Ruby Hospital Kampala is seeking a skilled and compassionate Anesthetist to join our multidisciplinary surgical and critical care team. This is a vital role supporting safe, high-quality care in the Operating Theatre (OT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia during surgical and diagnostic procedures
Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed
Provide pre- and post-operative anesthetic care
Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and ICU teams for comprehensive patient care
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in line with hospital policies
Respond to emergency situations and support critical care interventions
Adhere to best practices in patient safety and infection control

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
MBBS degree from a recognized institution
Postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology
Valid medical license and active registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC)
1–2 years of experience in anesthesia or operating theatre environments
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
