Ambulance Drivers job at Case Medical Services

Case Medical Services

Ambulance Drivers play a critical role in transporting patients to and from medical facilities, often during emergencies. While their primary duty is driving the ambulance, they are also involved in patient care support and maintaining the ambulance itself.

Safe Driving & Transportation:

  • Safely operate the ambulance, often in high-pressure and emergency situations, to transport patients to medical facilities.

  • Drive under various conditions (e.g., heavy traffic, inclement weather) while adhering to traffic regulations and using emergency lights and sirens appropriately.

  • Plan the quickest and safest route to medical facilities, often using GPS systems or radio communications for updates.

Patient Assistance & Transfer:

  • Assist paramedics, EMTs, and other medical personnel in lifting, loading, and unloading patients from the ambulance.

  • Ensure that patients are properly secured on stretchers or wheelchairs during transport.

  • Provide basic first aid or assist in minor medical procedures under the direction of paramedics or emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

Vehicle Maintenance & Equipment Check:

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on the ambulance (e.g., fuel levels, engine performance, tire pressure).

  • Ensure the ambulance is stocked with necessary medical supplies, such as oxygen tanks, stretchers, and first aid kits.

Clean and disinfect the ambulance after each patient transfer to prevent the spread of infections.

Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to ensure the vehicle remains in proper working condition.
