UNYFA is an umbrella body for young farmers in Uganda, established in 2016, and launched in June 2017, as a duly incorporated member-based organization, with registration number 80020000478713 under section 18(3) of Companies Act 2012. The organisation has 54 members r registered as District Young Farmers’ Associations (DYFAs), farmer youth groups and school agricultural clubs, with a total of over 35000 individual young farmers across the country.

Conducting regular field visits and trainings on agronomic practices, pest and disease management, post-harvest handling, value addition, and marketing.

  • Conducting regular field visits and trainings on agronomic practices, pest and disease management, post-harvest handling, value addition, and marketing.

  • Facilitating linkages between farmers and other stakeholders such as input suppliers, buyers, processors, financial institutions, and government agencies.

  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress and impact of the YFFU programs and activities on the farmers and community members.

  • Preparing and submitting timely and accurate reports on the field activities and achievements.

  • Participating in advocacy and networking activities to promote the interests and rights of the farmers and community members.

  • A diploma or degree in agriculture, extension, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in agricultural extension, community development, or a similar role.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet use.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural areas.

  • Fluency in English and at least one local language.
