People for Peace and Defence of Rights
Job Description
The Advocacy Officer will support the organisation’s human rights and advocacy initiatives aimed at strengthening the protection, voice, and inclusion of refugees and other vulnerable groups. The role involves coordinating advocacy campaigns, engaging stakeholders, documenting human rights concerns, and contributing to policy influence and community empowerment efforts.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of advocacy strategies, campaigns, and initiatives
- Conduct community engagement and awareness activities on human rights, justice, and social inclusion
- Identify, document, and report human rights issues affecting refugees and vulnerable communities
- Engage and collaborate with government authorities, partners, networks, and community leaders
- Support development of advocacy materials including briefs, reports, policy statements, and communication content
- Participate in stakeholder dialogues, meetings, workshops, and public forums
- Contribute to strengthening community voices and participation in decision-making processes
- Support capacity building and training activities on rights awareness and protection
- Assist in monitoring advocacy progress, outcomes, and impact
- Promote PPDR’s mission, values, and visibility through coordinated advocacy work
