Job Description
Job Title: Adoption Coordinator – Eastern Region
Organisation: African Clean Energy (ACE)
Duty Station: Mbale and Soroti, Uganda
Job Summary:
The Adoption Coordinator is responsible for ensuring stove customers successfully adopt clean cooking practices in a designated region. This includes onboarding new customers, syncing usage data, promoting consistent fuel use, supporting basic stove maintenance, and driving customer satisfaction. The Coordinator oversees a small team of field agents or directly engages with customers to ensure smooth onboarding and sustained use of stoves and fuels.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Field Agent Performance
Supervise and support 10–15 Adoptions Agents in delivering onboarding and support services.
Assign daily field tasks based on customer needs, adoption data, and geographic coverage.
Conduct regular field visits, shadowing, and spot checks to ensure quality implementation.
Monitor team performance using dashboards and tracking tools; ensure targets are met.
Lead weekly team huddles to review performance, troubleshoot issues, and build motivation.
Customer Onboarding & Training
Ensure all new customers receive comprehensive onboarding from adoptions agents.
Oversee delivery of stove use training, fuel handling guidance, and payment explanations.
Monitor onboarding completion rates and follow up on missed or incomplete visits.
Usage Data Collection & Monitoring
Ensure field agents support customers in syncing usage data accurately and on time.
Monitor stove syncing trends via dashboards or reports, flagging low-syncing customers.
Coordinate re-engagement visits or troubleshooting for underperforming users.
Fuel Adoption & Inventory Oversight
Promote consistent and exclusive use of clean fuels among customers.
Monitor local fuel inventory levels and coordinate restocking needs with fuel team.
Track fuel purchasing behavior and work with agents to improve regular usage.
Field Services & Minor Maintenance
Train and support agents to conduct minor maintenance tasks in the field (e.g., fan clogs, simple repairs).
Ensure smooth coordination with Response for complex issues requiring technician support.
Ensure accurate logs of field issues, replacements, and customer follow-ups.
Consumer Finance Support
Coordinate agent visits to customers with pending repayments or documentation gaps.
Reinforce repayment messaging and link to service continuity (e.g., fuel access).
Monitor repayment follow-ups and ensure timely syncing of data.
Customer Satisfaction & Relationship Building
Ensure customer concerns are resolved quickly and effectively by field agents.
Facilitate feedback collection through surveys, check-ins, or interviews.
Share success stories and identify improvement areas to strengthen adoption programs
Reporting & Coordination
Submit weekly and monthly reports on onboarding completion, usage trends, fuel adoption, and team performance.
Coordinate closely with the Sales, Response, and Consumer Finance teams.
Maintain accurate records of field activities, inventory, and customer touch points.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
2+ years of field team supervision or coordination experience, ideally in customer-facing or community-based roles.
Experience working in rural or peri-urban communities preferred.
Strong organizational, leadership, and reporting skills.
Tech-savvy, with experience using mobile tools for data collection and performance tracking.
Familiarity with clean cooking or last-mile distribution a plus.
Fluent in local languages and comfortable working in low-resource settings.
