Job Description
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit all statutory tax returns including VAT, WHT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, Stamp Duty within statutory deadlines
- Prepare tax payment schedules and ensure timely settlement of tax liabilities
- Perform monthly reconciliation of tax accounts against the general ledger
- Ensure accounting transactions comply with applicable tax legislation and internal policies
- Maintain complete and accurate tax records including returns, receipts, invoices, customs documentation
- Liaise with URA, customs authorities, auditors and regulatory agencies on tax compliance
- Support customs tax declarations and import/export tax compliance for ICD operations
- Review supplier invoices and accounting entries for correct tax application
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and provide guidance on implications
- Prepare tax schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and internal controls
