Accounts Assistants play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of an organization and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of its financial records.
Recording Transactions: Assist with the recording of financial transactions in accounting software or ledgers, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general journal entries, and adjustments.
Processing Invoices: Review, verify, and process invoices received from vendors or suppliers, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization before payment.
Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices, preparing payments, reconciling statements, and resolving discrepancies or billing issues.
Accounts Receivable: Assist with accounts receivable tasks, such as generating customer invoices, posting payments received, following up on overdue accounts, and issuing credit memos or refunds as needed.
Bank Reconciliation: Assist with bank reconciliations by comparing internal records with bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or errors.
Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and recording expenses accurately in the accounting system.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and schedules, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to support internal and external reporting requirements.
Budget Monitoring: Support budgeting and forecasting activities by assisting with the preparation of budgets, monitoring budget variances, and providing financial analysis and reporting to management.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as requested by auditors, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.
Documentation and Filing: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, files, and documentation in accordance with record-keeping policies and regulatory requirements.
Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including department managers, employees, and vendors, to address inquiries, provide assistance, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with special projects, ad-hoc financial analysis, and other tasks as assigned by the accounting manager or supervisor to support the overall financial operations of the organization.

Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance or related fields and should have general knowledge of accounting & audit principles and procedures.
Minimum 2 years related working experience in accounting field.
Experience with Accounting Software, Tally ERP9 is added advantage and Microsoft Packages especially MS Excel.
