Job Description
Dei BioPharma Ltd is a biotech and pharmaceutical research firm duly incorporated in Uganda Specializing in the development and manufacture of innovative medicines and vaccines. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, site Matugga, Wakiso district, Uganda, shall produce high-quality medicines across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including:
• Dermatology: Skin conditions.
• Orthopedics: Musculoskeletal system.
• Psychiatry: Mental health and disorders.
• Immunology Immune system and related disorders.
• Neurology: Nervous system disorders.
• Gastroenterology: Digestive system and its disorders.
• Endocrinology: Hormones and endocrine system.
• Pulmonology: Respiratory system and lung conditions
• Cardiology: Heart and cardiovascular system.
• Oncology.: Cancer treatment
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and report variances.
Tax Preparation and Compliance:
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure the organization complies.
Auditing:
Conduct internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and ensuring timely payments.
Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and following up on overdue accounts.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Payroll Management:
Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.
Handle payroll taxes and deductions in compliance with regulations.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the organization adheres to financial regulations and standards.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide support.
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are advantageous.
Experience:
Several years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
Experience with accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Familiarity with tax laws and compliance requirements.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
Attention to Detai
High level of accurl:acy in financial record keeping and reporting.
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
