Job Description
JOB OPPORTUNITY: Accountant
Organization: Armstrong Consulting Engineers Limited
Location: Wakiso, Uganda
Reports To: Managing Director
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of all financial operations, including planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

How to Apply
Prepare financial documents such as invoices, bills, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Manage payroll processing and ensure timely salary payments.
Handle billing and payments for clients, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
Prepare and present daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets.
Assist in internal and external audits.
Manage statutory compliance, including WHT, VAT, PAYE, NSSF, LST, and maintain relevant documentation.
Oversee the preparation of payroll and ensure compliance with finance policies.
File annual tax returns and generate EFRIS invoices.
Ensure timely renewal of licenses and subscriptions such as UACE, UIPE, and KCCA trading license.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing from a recognized university.
Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
