How to Apply
Policies and Procedures:
Contribute to the development and review of finance policies.
Update and maintain finance standard operating procedures and documentation.
Support the design of finance risk mitigation strategies.
Provide guidance on the implementation of internal controls.
Process Controls and Execution:
Accurately process payroll in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations.
Maintain accurate, timely, and properly authorized bank reconciliations.
Oversee accurate asset accounting and statutory remittances.
Review statutory deduction ledgers (PAYE, NSSF, LST, Provident Fund).
Manage finance document organization and archival.
General Ledger Reconciliations:
Prepare, review, and approve payroll reconciliations with the general ledger.
Oversee and approve bank reconciliations to the general ledger.
Perform accruals and prepayments reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
Manage reconciliations of the fixed asset register.
Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements.
Human Resource Management and Development:
Provide orientation and set performance expectations for new staff.
Oversee staff performance management, including appraisals and standards.
Train and mentor team members to enhance performance.
Coordinate annual leave to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Manage staff training and professional development programs.
Reporting:
Prepare financial reports for management following organizational guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
Professional certification (completed or in progress) is preferred, with ACCA, CPA, or similar membership considered an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a dynamic finance and accounts role.
Proficiency in accounting software; familiarity with Solomon is a plus.
Strong financial analysis, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
Sound understanding of financial principles, cash management, and risk assessment.
Commitment to organizational values and a strong work ethic.
Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
High personal and professional integrity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
