Job Description
Job Title: Primary Grade III Teacher (8 Jobs)

Duty Station: Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Uganda
Job Summary:
Your roles as a teacher will be to directly to managing the teaching & learning processes for both in & out of classrooms during the school hours in the school that you will be posted in; planning together with your headteacher & other colleague teachers; report to headteacher who will be your immediate supervisor and participate in any community engagement aimed at promoting access to quality education.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Preparing timely schemes of work and lesson plans for quality teaching and learning.
Prepare teaching & learning materials based on learner’s assessment and effectively deliver quality teaching of learners.
Always use learner centred pedagogical skills in the management of teaching and learning, both in and out of his/her class to ensure quality inclusive learning processes.
Conduct timely, regular, and quality learning assessment of all learners under his / her care to guide teaching and learning processes.
Promoting inclusiveness by ensuring that preparation of teaching and learning materials take care of the different learning needs of learners in his/her class.
Reporting on the academic performance of the learners through carrying out continuous assessment of all the learning stages.
Attending staff meeting and participate in the planning and management of schools.
Participating in the co-curricular activities to enhance children’s holistic learning and expected competence development.
Participating in community mobilization and sensitization activities aimed at increasing learners’ enrolment.
Be part of the child protection structure in school that will promote safety & protection of children while in school by ensuring the school is free from all forms of child abuse and risk.
Professionally carry out counselling and career guidance with his/ her learner to help learner understand the available career/ education pathways options for them.
Any other duties assigned to you by supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of Grade III teaching certificate from a recognized teacher training school/College
Must have passed Math and English with at least credit six at O level.
Must be registered with Ministry of Education & Sports
At least 1-year experience in primary school teaching.
The candidate must exhibit excellent team management skills and able to work in multiethnic environment.
Must be an innovative teacher, able to produce results amidst challenges.
Should be able to listen and respect authority.
Must be hardworking and disciplinarian with skills to control large classes.
High integrity personnel to control the teaching materials available.
Willing to work with refugee community in promoting access to education.
Basic understanding of refugee situation and able to live within the refugee communities and willing to stay in the settlement.
Uphold and respect FCA code of conduct, child safeguarding and child protection policies.
