Job Description
As a Communication and Outreach Intern, you will support UNB’s communication and engagement strategy by creating and sharing impactful content, managing digital platforms, and fostering relationships with business stakeholders.
You will also assist in implementing outreach campaigns, tracking performance metrics, and amplifying the organisation’s voice in the business community.
This remote, three-month internship provides an excellent opportunity for young professionals to gain hands-on experience in communication, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement while contributing to Uganda’s economic growth.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop engaging content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and other channels.
Draft and distribute press releases, updates, and reports on UNB activities.
Support digital marketing campaigns aimed at enhancing audience engagement.
Track and analyse social media and website metrics to assess outreach effectiveness.
Help manage and update UNB’s website and digital platforms.
Engage with businesses and stakeholders to promote UNB’s events and initiatives.
Draft internal communications to ensure consistency across departments.
Support networking and partnership-building activities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communication, ICT, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Social Work, or Community Development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for storytelling and outreach.
Familiarity with social media management and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Interest in business development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
Creative mindset and willingness to learn new digital communication skills.
Prior experience in communications or marketing is an added advantage (not mandatory).
