Uganda Revenue Authority is a semi-autonomous government agency under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development that is mandated to assess, collect and account for government tax and non-tax revenue. The Authority is seeking to recruit persons with proven integrity that are innovative, analytical, self-driven, agile, and resilient with exceptional interpersonal skills to seize the following opportunities.


Fleet Assistant – Corporate Services Department

Number of Vacancies: 31

Job Role / Purpose:

Support the Uganda Revenue Authority’s operations by ensuring efficient and safe transportation services, while maintaining the authority’s fleet in proper working condition.

Application Procedure:

  1. Visit the URA website; http.ura.go.ug and follow the link "Careers > Experiential Hiring" to view the detail job description then select and apply for the job of your choice.

  2. Upon submission of your application, you will receive an acknowledgement notification via email. Please ensure that your mailbox has adequate space.

  3. In case you are not able to complete the application process, you will be required to save your work and the information captured will be saved in your login. This will enable you to resume and complete your application any time/date within the application period.

  4. Applicants are required to scan and attach copies of the required academic documents such as Transcript, O’level, A’level, Degree certificates or other trainings attained as indicated in the Job Description. Any qualification, which is not attached will not be considered.

  5. Academic documents of the successful candidates will be vetted and background checks conducted. Applicants without authentic academic documents will not be considered.

  6. Any applicant with forged academic documents will be charged in the relevant courts of law.

  7. Any form of lobbying will lead to automatic disqualification.

  8. Candidates who submit falsified information will automatically be disqualified at any stage in the recruitment process where such falsification has been discovered.

  9. Degree holders SHOULD NOT apply for Fleet Assistant and Office Assistant positions. The minimum academic qualifications for these positions is diploma and the minimum qualifications are clearly indicated in the respective Job Descriptions.

How to Apply

  • Ensure cleanliness and mechanical soundness of assigned vehicle.

  • Follow safety and road regulations at all times.

  • Monitor vehicle service schedules and report any mechanical issues.

  • Renew vehicle documentation such as insurance and registration.

  • Assist in accident reporting and documentation if incidents occur.

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor Fleet.

  • At least O-Level Certificate with a pass in English and Mathematics.

  • Valid driving permit (Class B mandatory; CM, DL, or DM added advantage).

  • 3–5 years of safe driving experience in a reputable institution.

  • Knowledge of Uganda’s traffic laws and vehicle maintenance basics.

  • Computer literacy and defensive driving training preferred.

  • Strong integrity, discipline, punctuality, and communication skills.
