Job Description
Raising The Village is seeking two (2) On-Call Driver/Mechanics to support its field operations. Reporting to the Fleet Coordinator, the Driver/Mechanic will be responsible for safely driving RTV vehicles and ensuring their proper maintenance within and outside program areas. The role requires extensive field travel and strict adherence to RTV policies, safety standards, and traffic regulations.

Travel Requirement: Approximately 85%
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive and maintain RTV vehicles in accordance with organizational policies.
- Conduct daily and end-of-day vehicle safety checks (fuel, oil, battery water, radiator water, tyre pressure and condition, etc.).
- Ensure vehicles follow the approved maintenance schedule and promptly report faults to the Supervisor.
- Carry out minor repairs and coordinate major repairs with approved garages upon supervisor approval.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks and inventory records.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure cleanliness and proper condition at all times.
- Report accidents, damage, incidents, or complaints immediately following RTV procedures.
- Ensure vehicles are used strictly for approved RTV activities.
- Comply with national Road Transport and Traffic Regulations at all times.
- Safely collect, store, transport, and deliver goods assigned to the vehicle.
- Ensure passenger safety, including mandatory use of seat belts.
- Ensure the vehicle is equipped with a stocked First Aid Kit.
- Monitor fuel usage in line with RTV motor vehicle policy.
- Refrain from phone calls or texting while driving.
- Manage long-distance driving and extended field travel when required.
